Motors + VFD Trainer is a simplified simulation for learning how a variable frequency drive and a three-phase induction motor work, fail and get diagnosed. It is not a substitute for training, the drive's manual, or the electrical code.

• Numbers are typical for a 10 hp, 460 V motor on a 480 V drive; the physics is simplified. Always work from the drive's manual and the motor's nameplate.
• A drive's DC bus stays charged after the power is off. Lock out, wait the time on the label, and verify dead with a rated meter. Never megger a motor with the drive still connected.
• The failure scenarios are sped up to show why each protection matters.
